Meet Our Occupational Therapists

Jessica Colburrn
Occupational Therapist

Jessica received her undergraduate degree from the University of South Dakota in 2012, my Master's in Occupational Therapy from the College of Saint Mary in 2016, and my Post-Professional Doctorate in Occupational Therapy from the University of St. Augustine in 2019.

What drew you to the field you’re in (e.g., OT, PT, SLP, Early Intervention)?
I had the privilege of going to work with my grandmother who was an occupational therapist, when I was in elementary school where I fell in love with doing the fun projects while helping those meet their goals and succeed in what matters to them.
What is your favorite part about working with children and families?
My favorite part is the laughter and the stories as I get to support our children and families in being able to do things
as a family where the best memories are shared, as their child was able to have a birthday party with friends where they ate their first birthday cake at the age of five.
What additional trainings or continuing education have your completed that help you better serve children?(e.g., DIR/Floortime, SOS Feeding, PROMPT, AAC training, NDT, etc.)
SOS Feeding, Reflex Integration, Handwriting Without Tears, Therapeutic Listening, Astronaut Training, NDT (Sensory Approach), and Vision.

Do you have a favorite therapy tool you love using?
My favorite tools in therapy to use are: swings, obstacle courses, and the child's interests (cats, bluey, dinosaurs, daniel tiger, etc.) in order to best support the child and their family's goals for occupational therapy.

Why are you proud to be part of the T & K team?
I love that we have the opportunity to meet the child where they are in order to best support them and their family. Moreover, I am proud we are able to utilize a variety of strategies, tools, and interventions while having the autonomy and continued education to support the kids and families we serve, as therapy should be evolving as our society does to best support those we see to engage in their lives to the fullest and our community as a whole. Here you

Amanda Klocke
Occupational Therapist
I have been working with children and families as an occupational therapist since 2019, primarily in early intervention and outpatient pediatric therapy. I graduated from the University of Mary in Bismarck, ND with a master's degree in occupational therapy. I currently live in the Carrington area and I look forward to working with your family.

What drew you to the field you’re in?
I’ve been an Occupational Therapist since 2019, and my passion for this work started with a very personal experience. When my grandfather had a spinal cord injury, I saw firsthand how life-changing occupational therapy could be. Watching him regain independence sparked my interest and inspired me to help others in the same way.
What is your favorite part about working with children and families?
I absolutely love getting to know each child and their family. Every child is unique, and being able to celebrate their progress—big or small—is what makes this job so special. Working alongside families to give them tools and strategies that make life easier at home and school is truly rewarding for me.

What additional trainings or continuing education have you completed that help you better serve children?
I’m passionate about continuing to learn and grow so I can give the best support possible. I’ve completed extra training in sensory processing, emotional regulation, feeding, and handwriting development. These skills help me create personalized, fun, and effective sessions for each child.
Do you have a favorite therapy tool you love using?
Yes! I love using play-based tools like sensory bins. They make sessions engaging and help kids feel more comfortable while learning important skills. It’s amazing how much progress can happen when therapy feels like play!

Why are you proud to be part of the T & K team?
I’m proud to be part of the T & K team because we truly care about kids and families. We work together to make therapy positive, playful, and meaningful. It’s such a supportive environment, and I’m honored to be a part of helping children reach their full potential.
