Behavioral Health Services
Mental and Emotional Support for Minors, Their Families and Caretakers

We are excited to announce that our pediatric therapy clinic has added behavioral health services for children up to age 8. We will take older children (up to age 12) if part of a family unit with younger children. We recognize that no one else in Jamestown is currently offering these services to children under the age of eight, and we are excited to be able to step in to fill this critical need. At this time, families needing mental health services for young children are traveling outside of the Jamestown area to get services.

Our behavioral health services will offer a range of services to support the mental and emotional health of children. Our team of licensed behavioral health professionals will offer assessments, therapy, and counseling services to help children cope with a range of mental health concerns, including anxiety, depression, behavioral issues, and more. We know that mental health issues can have a significant impact on a child's physical health, academic performance, and overall well-being.

Behavioral health therapy will implement components from play therapy, art therapy, sand play therapy, and traditional talk therapy. We offer several different types of services at various times based on the needs of the child and the family unit. Services include:

  • Individual Therapy: In this type of therapy, a child is seen to address individual symptoms/presenting problems. Parents/caregivers are included at the end of these sessions to broadly discuss what took place during the therapy session.

  • Family Therapy: Parents or other family members are included in family therapy sessions. This may increase the generalization of coping skills taught in individual sessions. Parenting concerns and attachment may also be addressed in family therapy.

  • Group Therapy: At times, groups may be offered. Groups may be tailored towards the children, while different groups are tailored towards parents/caregivers to provide a space for group members to connect, offer assistance to others, and a time for the counselor to offer psychoeducation for parents/caregivers to implement at home.

We value the relationships we have with our referring physicians and want to ensure that you are aware that T & K Pediatric Services is now offering this service. We welcome your referrals and look forward to partnering with you to provide the best possible care for your patients.
